The Townsville Port Authority is increasing the port security charge which is levied to all Swire Shipping vessels calling the port of Townsville. Swire Shipping is unable to absorb this cost increase and therefore, will be increasing the Townsville Port Security Charge.
Effective 1st January 2007, the new Maritime Port Security charge on all import and export cargo through the port of Townsville will be as follows;
TEU/FEU - AU$ 6.30
Breakbulk - AU$ 0.23 / rt
Vehicle- AU$1 per vehicle
All rates are exclusive of GST
