To Swire Shipping Valued Customers and Service Providers. Swire Shipping wrote to you on 4th October to advise you that Swire Shipping was re-branding from commencement Jan 2007.
As background the changes are;
- Swire Shipping Limited has been incorporated in London as the new operating identity for our liner shipping services.
- Swire Shipping will be adopted as the brand name and a universal Swire Shipping Limited (SSL) bill of lading will be issued for most Swire Shipping services.
- The existing brands being transferred to Swire Shipping are CCS, NGPL, Bank Line, Indotrans, Indotrans Pacific, APIL and Crocodile Line.
A summary of the effective voyages for the cut over to Swire Shipping and a copy of the SSL bill of lading are attached.
Clearly the progress of these changes has moved at pace and we thought it helpful to update our customers and suppliers on both the benefits and the improvements you will note in dealing with Swire Shipping.
Consolidation and Simplicity.
Five distinct brands will become one making it easier for you, our customers and suppliers to do business with us anywhere in the world. Instead of advertising separate schedules in countries covered by more than one service we will be publishing one schedule reflecting the geographical reach of our services - this will be particularly relevant in S E Asia, PNG, Australia and New Zealand.
Streamlining of Processes.
Instead of 5 different bills of lading we will issue one universal SSL bill of lading in most trade routes. This will cut down costs and time and simplify our documentation procedures.
Note: Those customers who nominate a specific bill of lading in their Letters of Credit will need to change their nomination to a Swire Shipping Bill of Lading.
E Commerce.
With the above streamlining we will advance rapidly to the introduction of electronic bills and associated innovations. This will save time and will reduce costs to our customers.
Swire Shipping Website.
The Swire Shipping website www.swireshipping.com is being updated to accommodate the branding changes and describe the breadth of our services on a single site.
Of course many of the features of dealing with Swire Shipping will be unchanged as a result of these re branding changes. That is -

- Service - We strive for excellence in customer service at all times and seek to work in partnership with our customers for mutual success.
- Personnel - The Swire Shipping agency and management staff that you are accustomed to dealing with will not change as a result of our re-branding.
